The Importance of Safety Goggles/Glasses

Saturday, March 14, 2020 Natalie Salem

Do you like to see? Silly question, maybe, but everyday employees don’t wear their required safety glasses or goggles, they put that ability at risk. According to the US Department of Labor, there are thousands of eye injuries every year due to lack of PPE. It only takes a second and a simple accident to lose it forever. Safety glasses are not the most comfortable PPE to wear, but they keep dust, debris, chemicals, pathogens, flying objects/particulates, and shrapnel from hitting your eyes; possibly causing serious damage, loss of vision, or even the loss of an eye. Even when working at home on a project, wearing eye protection can be the difference between finishing the project on schedule or an unscheduled trip to the emergency room. And everyone knows, with lost time, that’s lost production. Don’t become a statistic and always wear your eye protection on the job!
