Description:
Lockout/Tag Out Awareness for Manufacturing course is an introductory level interactive training designed to train employees about best work practices around electrical hazards in the workplace. Specific course topics include the following: Electricity basics, including definitions and an overview of electrical hazards A discussion of electrical safety, with information about accidents and types of injuries Information on electrical hazards such as inadequate wiring, overload risks, grounding dangers, and overhead power lines, plus an overview of electrical protective devices Details about safe work practices including guarding of live parts, system and equipment grounding, correct polarity, cord and plug grounding, and bonding The case study of a workplace fatality involving reversed polarity and faulty equipment Descriptions of the three types of circuit protection devices How to protect conductors and safely use flexible cords, covers, and canopies An explanation of how to control hazardous energy or LOTO Methods to isolate hazardous energy Guidelines for developing an energy control program More safe work practices and inspection procedures Knowledge checks to measure your understanding
